Woke up this morning hearing the news on NHPR. Even better, he's dead, shot resisting arrest. This way the US justice system does not get a chance to bungle his trial.
Killing Bin Laden won't end the war in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya. But it's a solid victory that heartens us and discourages our enemies.

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person. Navy Seal Team Six carried out the assault part of the operation. Very happy that President Obama rejected the bombing option and went in with the Seals.

Obama gave the go-ahead on Friday for a helicopter raid into the compound, after rejecting the idea of a bombing attack. Bin Laden “did resist the assault force,” the U.S. official said, but was shot in the head and killed “as our operators came into the compound.”
All we need to do now is release photographs and other evidence to convince the Islamic world that we really got him.
Then we need to do Zawahiri, and perhaps Quaddafi
I suspect the video or photos of his burial will be released in a few weeks after the initial euphoria wears off. I've already had to put some conspiracy theorists down on Facebook.
I use the Glomar Exporer raising the Soviet sub as an example. I said right after he was offed that they would confirm it was him, take lots of pictures and videos and give him a burial at sea with the appropriate Islamic ceremony.
Very next day, yup I was right on the money.
His own daughter and wife told the Pakistani's that they saw OBL get shot in the head and killed. Why on earth would they say that if it wasn't true? Pakistan also showed footage of the compound after the raid and the other bodies and people were left besides OBL. It also looks like no women or children were killed even though OBL used his wife as a human shield.
Hats off to DEVGRU. Amazing feat of courage, planning and skill to get 4 choppers in and out. Especially considering the debacle with helos and the Iran hostage situation.
